Future Horizons Leeds is delighted to announce that Ofsted has rated the college ‘strong’ in every area following its inspection from 6 to 8 May. This outcome marks a significant milestone in our journey from an adult social care provider to a high‑quality specialist college for students with SEND.
Inspectors highlighted a number of standout strengths that reflect the heart of our provision:
- “The provider has an open and positive culture of safeguarding,” with staff acting swiftly and confidently to keep learners safe.
- “Staff are well trained to identify a broad range of needs,” including educational needs, disabilities, challenging behaviour and mental health difficulties.
- “Leaders and trustees have a thorough understanding of the strengths and areas for development of the provision.”
- “Learners make extensive progress from their starting points… As a result, they develop dignity, independence and preparation for navigating adult life successfully.”
- “Teachers have designed a highly personalised, flexible and ambitious curriculum” that supports meaningful progress.
- Learners participate in a carefully structured and tailored programme of activities to develop their confidence and resilience.
Many thanks to all our students, staff, families and all stakeholders, we will continue this journey and ensure the very best outcomes for all our students.
