Functional Skills

Future Horizons recognises the fundamental importance of supporting learners to develop their functional Maths, English and digital skills. All learners are challenged to improve these skills and develop new knowledge, which in turn will help to support them to be more independent in adult life.

Pathway Leads set aspirational and stretching Maths, English and Digital Skills PLGs for each learner which are set over the course of the college year. For some learners this may be working through parts of the Milestone assessment system, for others it may be personalised to a particular skill they are seeking to develop.
