Prioritising personal progression and learner wellbeing
Future Horizons Leeds provides holistic, person-centred curriculum based education and care for young adults with complex learning and/or physical difficulties.
Welcome to Future Horizons Leeds
We are committed to putting young people with complex learning and communication difficulties at the centre of everything we do. We aim to provide a holistic, person-centred service that prioritises the wellbeing and personal progress of every learner. We pride ourselves on being able to challenge norms, think outside the box, and develop a creative response to need. We believe that every learner can achieve their personal outcomes and develop new skills.
Curriculum
We provide curriculum-based learning for learners aged 19-25.
Pathways
There are four pathways available, all assessed depending on the individual’s needs.
Campus
We have two sites in Leeds, West and South. Both are fully equipped and the site allocated depends on the needs of the learner.
We aim to maximize individual outcomes and wellbeing through the following:
- Up to 50 weeks provision a year
- A person-centred approach to meet individual needs
- A comprehensive curriculum, tailored to enable learners to achieve their personal and/or work-related goals
- Preparation to move into adulthood with friends, relationships and community involvement
- A focus on promoting physical, mental and emotional wellbeing
- Support to families and carers to promote social and economic wellbeing
- Participation, where appropriate, in training and life skills activities to promote independence
- Qualified and experienced staff and a high staff-to-learner ratio
Provision for young adults with complex needs
At Future Horizons Leeds we ensure that all learners have access to a curriculum which is personalised and bespoke for them, enabling them to achieve and make progress in whatever form is meaningful for them.
We ensure that all of our young people are given the opportunity to build the knowledge, skills and attitudes to prepare them for adult life, whatever their destination may be.
